One of the #1 things I am looking forward to about the election being over (other than, you know, hopefully having a country I can be proud of for once) is being done with awkward conversations about politics. No more of those conversations with people you legitimately like but whom you're not sure loves Obama quite as much as you- you know, those conversations that vaguely brush over the topic of the election, pause for a second while you eye each other and wonder if you should continue until one of you says something Obama-related and you both breathe a sigh of relief, because you don't have to awkwardly tiptoe around the subject. Won't that be nice? I have had a few too many of those conversations recently. Not a ton, but... a few too many.

I too am looking forward to this election being over but for the opposite reason - the uncomfortable silences or awkward pauses when speaking to friends and family who ALL support McCain. BUT, as I live in Tejas and don't have plans to move to CA for at least 2 more years, I have two futures available to me:
ReplyDelete1) McCain wins (God forbid) and the country gets more sucky and I have to listen to fellow Tejanos defend his stupidity... which includes pretty much EVERYONE I KNOW.
2) Obama wins (YAAAAAY) and I have to listen to fellow Tejanos complain about absolutely every thing he says and decision he makes.
Lord I can't handle the pressure!
